Persistence Gold (HKG:2489) agreed to acquire 351.6 million shares in GoldStone Resources for a little over 3.5 million pound sterling, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.

The shares represent around 20.96% equity interest in the target, which is a mining and exploration company that focuses on the Ashanti Gold Belt in Ghana, West Africa.

The company believes the acquisition will boost its resource inventory, diversify its operations, and enhance exposure to mining exploration in Africa.
