Osmond Resources (ASX:OSM) said a drill hole at the Orión EU critical minerals project in Spain encountered the prospective Pochico formation quartzite layers, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

The company said it expects to reach the base of the Pochico formation soon to allow for geophysical logging and correlation with other drill holes in the Southern Block of Zone 1.

It said its maiden mineral resource is expected to be completed in time to support the targeted completion of a scoping study before the end of the September quarter. The second drilling program is expected to restart in late September or early October.

Osmond Resources started a work stream targeting a secondary listing of its ordinary shares on Bolsa de Madrid in Spain.

The company's shares fell nearly 2% in recent trading on Friday.
