Hutchmed (HCM) said Wednesday a phase 2 trial for its intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma drug candidate, called fanregratinib, met its primary endpoint by generating an objective response rate of 42.5% as verified by an independent review committee.
The trial tested patients suffering from the advanced malignant disease who had previously received other systemic therapies. The drug candidate showed a manageable safety profile with adverse events limited to 2.2% of participants, the company said.
Hutchmed said it plans to present phase 2 trial results for the drug candidate at a medical event in Germany taking place from July 1 to July 4.
