Accent Group Warrants a Reasonable Takeover Premium -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Jun 18
2336 GMT - Frasers Group should expect to pay a premium for Accent Group given the Australian retailer's competitive position, Bell Potter analyst Chami Ratnapala says. She points to Accent's variously bannered stores across Australia and New Zealand, including what she says is its highly competitive Athlete's Foot chain and its vertical apparel brands. If Frasers wants the strategic win that comes with control of Accent, a reasonable premium is warranted, Ratnapala tells clients in a note. Bell Potter raises its target price 33% to 80 Australian cents, surpassing Frasers' A$0.65 offer. Shares are at A$0.75 ahead of the open and Bell Potter retains a hold rating. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
