1249 GMT - The fragile state of the U.K. economy reduces the urgency for the Bank of England to increase interest rates in response to inflation, Candriam's Jamie Niven says in a note. The BOE voted to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75% at Thursday's policy decision, although two out of nine policymakers favored raising rates. "Absent a renewed escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, we continue to believe the Bank of England will remain on hold at 3.75% for the remainder of 2026." (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
