Alpha Cognition (ACOG) said Tuesday that the first patient has been dosed in a phase 4 post-marketing clinical study to evaluate the tolerability profile and treatment experience associated with Zunveyl in routine clinical practice.

Zunveyl is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.

The biopharmaceutical company said the drug candidate is also being developed as a sublingual formulation for patients who have difficulty swallowing traditional tablets, and as a potential treatment for cognitive impairment associated with mild traumatic brain injury.

Alpha Cognition said it expects patient enrollment to continue through Q2 of 2027, and topline results after the enrollment and study follow-up is completed.

Shares of the company were up over 5% pre-bell.
