Nuvalent Shares Leap Premarket on Takeover by GSK

Shares of Nuvalent surged in premarket trading Tuesday after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company agreed to be acquired by U.K. pharmaceutical company GSK for $10.6 billion.

GSK is paying $124 a share in cash for Nuvalent, a 40% premium to Monday's closing price of $88.49 for the Cambridge, Mass., company.

The deal is slated to close in the third quarter.

Nuvalent shares were recently up more than 38% to $122.51 in premarket trading.
