Chewy's Outlook Cut Was Streeper Than Expected -- Market Talk

0851 ET - Chewy lowers is full-year sales outlook, as was expected coming into Wednesday's quarterly release, JPMorgan analysts say in a research note. "The magnitude of revision was a bit steeper than expected, likely reflecting a more stretched consumer year-to-date," they write. Looking ahead, the online pet-supplies retailer guides for 2Q sales below recently reduced investor expectations, though it maintains its forecast for adjusted Ebitda margin for the year. The outlooks come as Chewy reports in-line active customer net adds during the recent quarter, as well as net sales at the high end of guidance, the analysts write. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
