Cadence Design Systems Launches Level-5 Autonomous Capabilities for Virtual Chip Design Engineer

Cadence Design Systems (CDNS) has launched the Level-5 autonomous capabilities that will enable its ChipStack AI Super Agent to become a fully autonomous virtual agentic AI chip design engineer, the company said Monday.
The Level-5 ChipStack AI Super Agent framework features Cadence's electronic design automation portfolio and uses Nvidia's (NVDA) OpenShell runtime to run simulations in automated workflows as part of the chip designing process, Cadence said.
ChipStack AI Super Agent's Level-5 autonomous capabilities are expected to be available to early-access customers in H2, the company said.
