Everyone wants to snack, even consumers who are on GLP-1 medications.

That presents an opportunity for companies such as Mars, said Andrew Clarke, the packaged-food company's global president, at the WSJ Global Food Forum.

People on the weight-loss drugs are having smaller meals during the day, but eating more frequently, he said. "There's more snacking occasions. We just need to adapt," Clarke said. Mars is looking to meet the needs of consumers on weight-loss drugs, like offering smaller portions and operational benefits such as protein and fiber.

Another product is gaining an unexpected boost. Dry mouth, a common side effect of the medication, has driven a boost in gum sales, he said.
