Oil-Dri Corporation of America boosted its dividend by 9.8% and said its board authorized the repurchase of 500,000 shares of common stock.
The dividend on common stock was boosted to 22.5 cents a share from 20.5 cents. The new payout, equal to 90 cents a year, represents a 1.2% annual yield based on the company's Wednesday closing price of $77.16.
Dividends on Class B stock were boosted to 16.8 cents a share, up from 15.3 cents.
The dividends will be paid out on August 21 to shareholders of record as of August 7.
The increased buyback authorization adds to the company's existing authorization to repurchase 172,261 shares of common stock and 208,197 shares of Class B stock.
"Our strong financial foundation allows us to further raise our dividend following the increase announced in December, while also enhancing our share repurchase program," Chief Executive Officer Daniel Jaffee said.
