Elastic Shares Down After 1Q Earnings Outlook Misses Estimates

Elastic shares fell after the company issued an adjusted earnings outlook for the first quarter that missed Wall Street estimates.

Shares of the enterprise search and cybersecurity company fell 9% after hours to $52.25. Ahead of Thursday's market close, shares were up 6.9% to $57.61 on Thursday. The stock was down 24% year to date.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, Elastic said it expects adjusted earnings per share between 57 cents and 59 cents. Analysts expect 63 cents a share. The company expects revenue between $469 million and $470 million, while analysts expect revenue of $469.2 million.

For the full year, the company expects revenue between $1.99 billion and $2 billion. Analysts expect $1.97 billion. The company expects full-year adjusted earnings per share of $3.21 to $3.29. Analysts expect $2.85 a share.

The company on Thursday posted a fourth-quarter profit of $435.9 million, or $4.14 a share, compared with a loss of $16.4 million, or 16 cents a share, a year earlier.

Fourth-quarter adjusted earnings came in at 61 cents a share. Analysts expected 56 cents a share.

Revenue rose to $450.7 million from $388.4 million in the year-ago period. Analysts expected $446.7 million.
