Galan Lithium Processes First Lithium Brine from Argentina Project

Galan Lithium (ASX:GLN) confirmed the first processed lithium chloride at its fully owned Hombre Muerto West project in Catamarca Province, Argentina, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Wet plant commissioning at the project is complete, with an optimization phase now underway targeting the production of lithium chloride concentrate and product sales in the second half of the year, per the filing.

The company said it has accumulated a brine inventory of around 10,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent at the HMW project, providing immediate feedstock for a production ramp-up.

Shares of Galan Lithium rose 3% in recent Thursday trade.
