DeSoto Resources (ASX:DES) said a review of regional soil sampling programs at its Timbakouna project in Guinea has identified two priority areas for follow-up work, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The company said Area A comprises an 800-meter coherent soil anomaly above 25 parts per billion gold located in the northwest of Timbakouna, along the southern margin of a large artisanal working and south of historic drilling intercepts, including 18 meters at 11.8 grams per tonne gold from 48 meters.

Area B contains two coherent soil anomalies above 25 parts per billion gold stretching up to 950 meters, located adjacent to artisanal workings in southeast Timbakouna. Infill soil sampling was completed at both targets ahead of an airborne magnetics survey slated to start in the coming weeks, the filing added.
