Williams-Sonoma logged higher revenue in its latest quarter, helped by same-store sales gains at each of its brands.

The home-products retailer on Thursday posted a profit of $231.4 million, or $1.93 a share, compared with $231.3 million, or $1.85 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $1.81 a share.

Revenue rose to $1.81 billion from $1.73 billion. Analyst's forecast for the metric stood at $1.8 billion.

The company-which owns brands like Pottery Barn, West Elm and Mark and Graham-said comparable sales rose 4.8%, with growth at each of its brands.

Chief Executive Laura Alber said the company is off to a strong start this year, continuing to outperform despite cyclical swings in the housing market and other macroeconomic events.

Williams-Sonoma also backed its outlook for the full year, guiding for revenue to grow between 2.7% and 6.7%, with comparable sales up 2% to 6%.

The guidance assumes that oil prices will remain elevated for the fiscal year, and that the company won't receive refunds on tariffs paid, it said. The outlook also factors in the assumption that all tariff rates currently in place will remain for the full year.

The company also named Jennifer Kellor as the next president of Pottery Barn, succeeding Monica Bhargava, who is departing the company.

Kellor has worked at the company for nearly three decades, joining as an assistant buyer for the Pottery Barn catalog. She was previously president of the Pottery Barn children's brands since 2016.
