BRP's Brand Can Withstand Tariff Challenges in the Long-Term -- Market Talk

1310 ET - BRP's brand value should be able to overcome any near-term challenges posed by tariffs, says Mark Petrie of CIBC. In a report, the analyst says that U.S. tariffs are dragging BRP's financial results, "and it is one of the most negatively affected companies that we are aware of." In the short run, Petrie doesn't think there are many levers available for the company to offset the $500 million headwind in FY27. However, he says that since BRP isn't likely a direct target of the tariffs, that the likelihood of policy being revised in the Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo maker is "in BRP's favor." Petrie says that "we ultimately believe tariff noise will be addressed and BRP's long-term brand value will prevail." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
