Aviat Shares Fall After 3Q Loss

Aviat Networks shares tumbled after the maker of network technology posted a fiscal third-quarter loss on dwindling revenue.

The company's stock was recently 27% lower at $16.60 in premarket trading.

The Austin, Texas, maker of radio and router technology logged a loss of $2.1 million, or 16 cents a share, in contrast to a profit of $3.5 million, or 27 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain on-off items, Aviat logged earnings of 6 cents a share, a far cry from the 44 cents a share forecast by analysts, as per FactSet.

Revenue fell 11% to $100 million, short of the average analyst target of $112.6 million.

For the year ending in June, Aviat projected revenue in a range between $428 million and $440 million, short of the average Wall Street target of $445.3 million.
