Archer-Daniels-Midland raised its full-year earnings outlook after the Trump administration issued new rules requiring gas and diesel to contain more biofuels.

For the first quarter, the food-processing company posted net income of $298 million, or 62 cents a share, up from $295 million, or 61 cents a share, the year prior.

Adjusted earnings were 71 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected 64 cents a share.

Revenue rose to $20.49 billion from $20.18 billion a year earlier.

The company raised its full-year adjusted-earnings outlook to about $4.15 to $4.70 a share, up from its prior outlook of $3.60 to $4.25 a share. Wall Street sees full-year adjusted earnings of $4.16 a share.

"With U.S. biofuels policy clarity now providing a stable regulatory framework, combined with our team's solid execution, we are raising our earnings expectations for 2026," said Chief Executive Juan Luciano.

In March, the U.S. government issued new rules requiring more biofuel made from crops to be blended into the gasoline and diesel supply.

Luciano said earlier this year that U.S. policy that enabled increased renewable diesel blending would boost the company's profits in 2026.
