Cloudflare to Slash 1,100 Jobs Due to AI-Driven Restructuring Plan

Cloudflare plans to cut about 1,100 jobs as part of a restructuring plan driven by artificial-intelligence.

Cloudflare's co-founders, Chief Executive Officer Matthew Prince and Chief Operating Officer Michelle Zatlyn, disclosed the cuts in an email to staff Thursday afternoon. They said the move is designed to reshape the company in advance of the "agentic AI era."

"Today's actions are not a cost-cutting exercise or an assessment of individuals' performance," they wrote. "They are about Cloudflare defining how a world-class, high-growth company operates and creates value in the agentic AI era."

The company said it expects to incur charges between $140 million and $150 million for the layoffs, largely during the second quarter. The layoffs are expected to be substantially complete by the end of the third quarter.
