Oruka Therapeutics shares gained after the company announced positive results for its Phase 2a trial of a psoriasis treatment.

The stock jumped 22% to $84 in premarket trading Monday. Through Friday's close, shares had more than doubled this year.

The clinical-stage biotechnology company said Monday that Orka-001, a treatment for the skin condition plaque psoriasis, reached the top end of expectations for efficacy, tolerability and the potential for long-lasting response.

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 63.5% of patients treated with Orka-001 achieved the primary endpoint at week 16, representing a complete clearing of skin, Oruka said.

That data shows higher rates of skin clearance than those of all other inhibitors of that kind for plaque psoriasis, the company said.

The drug was also well tolerated with a safety profile similar to that of the placebo and consistent with other treatments of its kind, the company said. There were no serious adverse effects from taking the treatment, it said.

Oruka plans to share longer-term data in the second half of 2026. It also continues to advance a separate Phase 2b trial, with data expected in 2027, it said.
