OCBC Remains Attractive on Solid Balance Sheet, Sound Asset Quality -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0357 GMT - Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp.'s 1Q profit after tax and minority interests is likely to be marginally lower on year, as net interest margins could have been pressured, RHB Research says in a note. However, the Singapore bank's 1Q PATMI may be higher sequentially on a likely rebound in non-interest income after a seasonally slower 4Q. "In our view, OCBC's solid balance sheet and sound asset quality metrics offer investors a good defensive hideout while still benefiting from the influx of liquidity and wealth flows into the country," RHB says. It raises the stock's target price to S$24.65 from S$23.45 and keeps a buy rating. The stock is down 0.4% at S$21.62.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
