Dow Jones
Apr 28

1145 GMT - WPP's results aren't quite as bleak as analysts had feared, but the company is still struggling, AJ Bell's Dan Coatsworth writes in a note. "While there are signs new boss Cindy Rose might be gaining some traction with her recovery strategy, the geopolitical backdrop and client losses lead to a downbeat first-quarter update," he says. The threat of AI disruption continues to weigh on the business, as the market remains unconvinced the group can benefit from the technology, he says. "The difficult economic backdrop does not make life any easier," he adds. Shares are up 0.4% at 2.60 pounds.(najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
