0757 GMT - WH Smith turns more cautious on its outlook due to uncertainty arising from the conflict in the Middle East, RBC Capital Markets analysts Richard Chamberlain and Manjari Dhar write. The travel retailer lowers midpoint of its pretax profit guidance by 9% and suspends its dividend, they note. The company is worried about the impact of the war on passenger numbers and weaker consumer confidence. Overall, its first-half performance was broadly in line with consensus expectations, the analysts say. Shares fall around 10% to 564 pence. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
