Bar Harbor Bankshares Raises Quarterly Dividend 6.3%, Approves Buyback Program

The board of Bar Harbor Bankshares raised the company's quarterly dividend by about 6.3% to 34 cents per share from 32 cents.

The annual dividend $1.36 dividend represents a yield of 4%, based on Tuesday's closing price of $33.96 per share. The new dividend will be payable on June 18 to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 21.

Bar Harbor's board also approved a share repurchase plan to buyback up to 5% of the company's outstanding common stock.

The company is now authorized to purchase up to approximately 837,000 shares as of March 31, Bar Harbor said, adding the plan is authorized to last no longer than 12 months.

Bar Harbor is the parent company of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
