Probably the most concerning element of the whole transaction is that the disposal amounted to 63% of their entire holding.     Trump has pledged to \"unleash\" American oil and gas and these 15 US stocks have developments that are poised to benefit.Advertisement The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Cogstate   Notably, that recent sale by Martyn Myer is the biggest insider sale of Cogstate shares that we've seen in the last year.     That means that even when the share price was below the current price of AU$2.50, an insider wanted to cash in some shares.  We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable.  Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price.   It is worth noting that this sale was 63% of Martyn Myer's holding.      Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid AU$26m for 12.55m shares. Insider Ownership Of Cogstate  Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own.  Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term.   Cogstate insiders own about AU$85m worth of shares. That equates to 20% of the company.  We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.   What Might The Insider Transactions At Cogstate Tell Us?  Unfortunately, there has been more insider selling of Cogstate stock, than buying, in the last three months.     Zooming out, the longer term picture doesn't give us much comfort.    But it is good to see that Cogstate is growing earnings.    Insider ownership isn't particularly high, so this analysis makes us cautious about the company.  We're in no rush to buy!
