Refined product prices in the Northeast were posting heavy losses Friday morning from futures losses on word of the Iranian government reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial ships.
New York Harbor gasoline spot product prices fell over 22cts with futures as basis levels remained steady, marking some of the lowest spot prices seen in several sessions.
Prompt barge and Buckeye 7.8-lb RVP CBOB measured at an 8.6ct premium to the May RBOB NYMEX and 7.4-lb RVP RBOB measured at an 8.5ct premium. Cash prices for both products dropped 22.16cts to $3.0281/gal and $3.0271/gal, respectively, at 9:55 a.m. ET, marking the lowest price in three sessions.
Prompt offline Colonial Pipeline 9-lb RVP CBOB for prompt Cycle 21 continued at 4.5cts under futures. The spot price fell 22.16cts to $2.8971/gal, the lowest spot price since March 23.
RBOB for Cycle 20 delivery carried on at a 11.5ct premium to futures, and the cash price crumbled 22.16cts to $3.0571/gal.
Regular gasoline for prompt Cycle 20 delivery measured at a 7.5ct premium to futures. In turn, the cash prices sank 22.16cts with futures to $3.0171/gal.
Distillate spot prices in the Northeast were falling heavily on NYMEX selling Friday morning to some of the lowest cash prices seen since the start of the conflict.
Offline Colonial Pipeline ULSD for Cycle 21 delivery continued at a 2ct premium to futures, and the cash price dropped 46.75cts to $3.3854/gal. If held until close of business, this will be one of the lowest cash prices since the first week of the conflict in the Middle East.
Barge and Buckeye ULSD continued at a 1ct premium to futures, and the cash price lost 46.75cts with futures to $3.3754/gal, the lowest price since March 3.
Offline Colonial Pipeline ultra-low-sulfur heating oil for Cycle 21 delivery continued at a 24ct discount to futures. The cash price was 46.75cts lower at $3.1254/gal.
Barge and Buckeye ULSHO continued at a 25ct discount to futures, and the cash price dropped 46.75cts to $3.1154/gal.
Offline Colonial Pipeline, barge, and Buckeye jet fuel increased 5.5cts to a 26ct premium to the May ULSD NYMEX. The cash price fell 41.25cts to $3.6254/gal, one of the lowest prices in the last five weeks.
