Harley-Davidson Recalling 17,000 Motorcycles Over Brake Issues

Harley-Davidson Motor is recalling nearly 17,000 Softail motorcycles over concerns about a defect in the brake line.

In a report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Harley Davidson said the rear brake line on certain models may touch the Body Control Module, possibly leading to holes in the brake line and a loss of brake fluid that could compromise rear braking.

The company said it will replace the BCM caddy and associated hardware on the affected vehicles to increase their distance from the brake line.

The affected models are the 2025-2026 FLHC, FXBB, FXLRS, and FXLRST models.

The company said in its report that it was first made aware of the braking issues in early March.
