Metal Powder Works (ASX:MPW) said independent testing has confirmed its product, DirectPowder CP Titanium Grade 2, meets all ASTM B384 structural benchmarks for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) technology, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

ASTM standards underpin material qualification for aerospace and defense applications and are widely used as a globally recognized benchmark for structural performance, the filing added.

The company said that a third qualification process is currently underway with the University of Dayton Research Institute, targeting structural repair applications.

Metal Powder Works' shares gained about 2% in recent Tuesday trade.
