Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) reported preliminary copper equivalent (CuEq) production of 34.5 kilotonnes in the March quarter, down from 36.1 kilotonnes a year earlier, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company reporter March quarter CuEq production of 21.7 kilotonnes for its Matsa operation in Spain, where high rainfall and unplanned maintenance impacted results, and 12.8 kilotonnes for its Motheo operations in Botswana, where the transition to higher-grade ore was delayed, per the filing.
Sandfire maintained its fiscal 2026 CuEq production guidance of 149 to 165 kilotonnes, but lowered its capital expenditure guidance for the year by AU$15 million to AU$225 million, due partly to a delay in the mobilization and ramp-up of activity at its Kalkaroo project in South Australia.
