Market Chatter: Grifols Faces New Health Canada Conditions After Inspection Deficiencies

Grifols (GRFS) faces new operating conditions across all of its Canadian plasma collection centers after Health Canada inspections found recurring, systemic compliance deficiencies, CBC News reported Wednesday, citing a spokesperson for the regulator.

The regulator said inspections identified weak donor-suitability assessments, inadequate investigation of errors and accidents, insufficiently trained staff, and failures to consistently follow operating procedures, according to the report.

New conditions include reducing appointment volumes, reassessing staffing levels, strengthening oversight for newer staff, and conducting annual internal audits, the report said.

The conditions will remain in place until Grifols demonstrates sustained compliance across all 16 licensed Canadian sites, the report said.

Grifols did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
