EML Payments (ASX:EML) appointed Adam Olding as chief executive, effective Monday, according to a same-day filing with the Australian bourse.

Olding joined EML in September 2024 as CEO of Australia, UK, and Europe, and recently also assumed leadership of the North American market.

Additionally, the company said its EML Payment Solutions division is filing an application with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority seeking approval to continue banking business in the country with respect to certain prepaid card programs that the regulator deems to be purchased payment facilities.

EML Payments expects the subsidiary to receive an authorized deposit-taking institution license within the next 12 months, which would release it from certain regulatory requirements related to obtaining guarantees.

Shares of EML Payments were down 4% in recent Monday trade and earlier hit their lowest since March 2023.
