Oxford Industries Says Product Efforts Paying Off Heading Into Spring -- Market Talk

1838 ET - Oxford Industries' work to better align its offerings with demand appears to be bearing fruit, CEO Tom Chubb says. Comparable sales for the owner of brands including Tommy Bahama and Lilly Pulitzer turned positive in late January and have remained so since then, albeit modestly. "We are especially encouraged that performance improved as we moved into resort in early spring when our product offerings were better aligned with customer demand compared with our holiday assortments," Chubb says, noting the brands are especially well-positioned in these seasons because of their connection to warm-weather lifestyles. "While the environment remains uncertain, these trends reinforce our confidence that actions we have taken are gaining traction." (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
