Syntara (ASX:SNT) received a milestone payment of about AU$1.7 million from Parkinson's UK following the dosing of the final patient in its second-phase clinical trial of SNT-4728, a potential treatment targeting neuroinflammation linked with early-stage Parkinson's disease, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The trial is evaluating SNT-4728 in individuals diagnosed with isolated rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder, one of the strongest early indicators of future Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, the filing said.
The company will be eligible to receive a further AU$450,000 upon completion of the project, per the filing.
