Immutep (ASX:IMM) will discontinue its Tacti-004 phase 3 trial, following recommendation from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

The committee's recommendation comes after a review of the available safety and efficacy data, per the filing.

The study was evaluating eftilagimod alfa in patients in first line non-small cell lung cancer, the filing said. In response to the committee's recommendation, the company will stop patient enrollment and wind down the study.

Immutep shares tumbled past 92% in recent Friday trade and earlier hit an all-time low.
