ST Engineering's Share Rerating Could Continue on Mideast Conflict -- Market Talk

0626 GMT - Singapore Technologies Engineering's share rerating is likely to continue given the ongoing Mideast conflict, say OCBC Group Research analysts in a note. The Singapore-listed company's international defense exposure is likely to gain greater visibility amid rising global defense budgets and faster procurement cycles, they say. The stock is trading above its historical average forward price-to-earnings ratio, but is still at a discount to selected global aerospace and defense peers, they say. "While current valuations for defense companies appear stretched relative to historicals, the evolving geopolitical backdrop may warrant a structurally-higher multiple going forward," they add, although this could depend on companies' market share growth and order book execution.
