Fomento Económico Mexicano plans to propose a 3.7% increase to its dividend and initiate a special dividend.

The company, which provides bottling services and operates a convenience store chain, said Friday its board will propose the dividends at the upcoming shareholder meeting.

The increased dividends would be 99 pesos, or 0.06 cents, per FEMSAUB unit, and 1.19 pesos per FEMSAUBD unit. The increase would keep up with inflation in Mexico, Fomento said.

The board also plans to propose an extraordinary dividend in four quarterly installments of 1.68 pesos per FEMSAUB unit and 2.01 pesos per FEMSAUBD unit.

The dividends would be distributed starting in April.
