Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 267,123 ordinary shares on Jul, 21 2026, reducing its issued share capital to 2,506,558,577 shares.
The insurer also repurchased a further 270,412 shares on Jul, 21 2026 through the London Stock Exchange for a total consideration of about 2.86 million pounds, paying between GBP 10.46 and GBP 10.675 per share. These shares are scheduled for cancellation.
In addition, 500,319 shares bought back on Jul, 20 2026 and the 270,412 shares acquired on Jul, 21 2026 remain pending cancellation. Collectively, the transactions represent a 0.020 percent reduction of Prudential’s issued share base.
The buybacks form part of a broader mandate approved on May, 14 2025 that authorises Prudential to repurchase up to 262.67 million shares; the company has so far bought back 106.39 million shares under this authority. A moratorium on new share issues or treasury share sales is in effect until Aug, 20 2026.
