Smartphones, smart wearables, and vehicle-mounted terminals have essentially achieved standard BeiDou positioning capabilities, with domestic smartphones supporting BeiDou positioning accounting for over 98% of the market.
According to reports, the overall output value of China's satellite navigation industry reached 629 billion yuan in 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 9.24% and demonstrating sustained resilience in industrial development. A representative from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that in recent years, the ministry has vigorously promoted the innovative development of the BeiDou industry, continuously expanding its large-scale application in areas such as mass consumer products, industrial manufacturing, and integrated innovation. The ministry has coordinated efforts in pilot cultivation, product promotion, standard enhancement, and ecosystem construction, achieving phased results in the scale application of BeiDou.
The ministry has organized pilot programs for the large-scale application of BeiDou in cities, with each participating city leveraging its own industrial strengths to create distinctive application scenarios tailored to local conditions. This has resulted in a batch of replicable and promotable practical cases. For instance, Chongqing has focused on the automotive and communications sectors, Wuhan has delved into shared two-wheelers and smart wearables, and Zhuzhou has carried out practical implementations centered around smart business districts and rail transit. The 39 pilot cities have produced tangible outcomes in areas such as public mobility, urban governance, and industrial upgrading, helping transform BeiDou from a "constellation in the sky" into a "spatiotemporal foundation" serving urban development, thereby accumulating valuable experience for nationwide promotion.
BeiDou has become deeply integrated across various industries, with the inventory of BeiDou terminal devices in key domestic sectors approaching 40 million units and the comprehensive application penetration rate in key industries reaching approximately 90%. Its applications continue to deepen in sectors such as transportation, public safety, and smart agriculture. For everyday consumer life, scenarios including shared two-wheelers, smartwatches, and vehicle-mounted applications have become widely adopted. The inventory of wearable devices supporting BeiDou positioning exceeds 160 million units, and more than 100 million passenger vehicles have been equipped with BeiDou vehicle-mounted positioning devices, bringing BeiDou into countless households.
Special features such as BeiDou short messaging are accelerating their deployment in consumer terminals, playing a unique role in emergency support and other areas. New business models under the "BeiDou+" framework are continuously emerging, and the vitality of industrial development continues to be unleashed. In terms of improving standards and the industrial ecosystem, the ministry has been accelerating the refinement of the standard system for BeiDou products and application services, consistently filling gaps in the full-chain standard supply covering chips, modules, terminals, system platforms, and service interfaces. The cumulative number of current and effective national, industry, and special standards related to BeiDou exceeds 210, essentially covering all aspects from technology research and development, product manufacturing, and testing and evaluation to industry applications.
The number of domestic enterprises and institutions in the BeiDou spatiotemporal field has surpassed 20,000, fostering the growth of a batch of national-level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises as well as single-product champion enterprises. Cumulative invention patents related to BeiDou have exceeded 18,000, ranking among the top globally. Additionally, supporting capabilities such as testing, metrology, intellectual property, and public service platforms have been continuously strengthened, providing robust support for the stable and long-term development of BeiDou's large-scale application.
