Mingshi Brain-Computer Chief Commercial Officer Chen Wenkai stated that the ultimate future of brain-computer interfaces (BCI) will undoubtedly represent a major upgrade for humanity, a deep integration of carbon-based life and silicon-based intelligence, and a two-way symbiosis between the human brain and artificial intelligence. Looking further ahead, the core trend of future human-machine integration will be the deep binding of the human brain and AI.

He pointed out that many people overlook a crucial point: true human-machine integration must be a two-way, interactive process. The brain-computer applications we see today, whether involving thought-controlled machinery, intelligent rehabilitation assistance, or daily living aids, are still in the one-way decoding stage of "the brain outputting commands."

"The true core challenge of human-machine integration in ten or fifteen years will be reverse integration: how machine intelligence can accurately adapt to, access, and integrate with the human brain to achieve two-way interaction and symbiotic collaboration," he said.

He noted that while the ultimate future of BCI is exciting to imagine, the path to technological implementation is not a matter of overnight success. Breakthroughs will not be achieved in just one or two years but require sustained, deep cultivation over five, ten, or even twenty years.

In his view, the successful writing of high-throughput information like vision into the brain holds milestone significance. This means humans can break through limitations imposed by hundreds of millions of years of natural evolution, using artificial perception to replace or supplement native senses. We can start from foundational medical scenarios like treating illnesses and restoring functions, gradually evolving towards deep human-machine integration.

He believes that sensory restoration and visual restoration represent the "Mount Everest" of the brain-computer interface field. There are no shortcuts; progress must be made step by step, overcoming various hardware and software challenges one by one.
