Market Expectations for Fed Rate Hikes Firm Up Following Middle East Tensions

Following reciprocal attacks in the Persian Gulf region and an announcement by U.S. President Trump on social media that the United States intends to impose a 20% levy as compensation on all cargo transiting the Strait of Hormuz, interest rate traders have now almost fully priced in expectations for one Federal Reserve interest rate hike by September, and have completely priced in expectations for two rate hikes by the end of March.
