Guangzhou-based Guangdong Yueyun Transportation (abbreviated “Yueyun Transportation”) has released its 10th Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, covering operational and sustainability performance from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
Financial Highlights (RMB, converted from figures disclosed in 100-million yuan units) • Operating revenue: 3.25 billion • Net profit: 266 million • Total assets: 6.92 billion • Operating cost: 6.77 billion • Taxes paid: 2.69 billion
Corporate Governance • Four shareholders’ meetings, 25 board meetings and four audit & corporate-governance committee meetings were convened. • Twenty-six audit projects (including nine economic responsibility audits and 15 special audits) were completed; no material non-compliance or corruption cases were reported. • Yueyun earned dual certification to GB/T 35770-2022 and ISO 37301:2021 for its compliance management system.
Environmental Management • Total energy consumption: 49,594 tonnes of standard coal; energy intensity 0.0665 tce per RMB 10,000 of revenue. • Water consumption: 5.16 million tonnes; water-use intensity 6.92 tonnes per RMB 10,000 of revenue. • Greenhouse-gas emissions (Scope 1 & 2): 134,687 tonnes of CO₂e. • 100 percent compliant disposal of 72,238 litres of waste lubricants and 1,254 used batteries. • Flagship “zero-carbon” pilot at Dahuai Service Area incorporates a 3.7 MW photovoltaic array, 1.5 MW/3 MWh storage system and 86 EV chargers; Chengnan and Baiqiao service areas showcase modular eco-design and cultural-tourism integration.
Medium-/Long-Term Targets (using 2024 baseline) • Reduce comprehensive energy intensity 10-15 % by 2026 and 20 % by 2029. • Cut water-use intensity 2-5 % by 2026 and 8 % by 2029. • Lower exhaust-emission intensity up to 8 % by 2026 and 10 % by 2029. • Trim carbon-emission intensity up to 10 % by 2026 and 15 % by 2029. • Maintain 100 % harmless disposal rates for hazardous and non-hazardous waste through 2029.
Social Performance • Safety investment: RMB 13.35 million; 113,855 training participations, averaging 6.5 hours per employee. • Workforce: 6,860 employees; 100 % labour-contract coverage and social-insurance enrolment; no cases of child or forced labour. • Supplier base: 321 vendors, 96.88 % located in Guangdong; all new suppliers screened for ESG criteria. • Volunteer engagement: 7,649 participations across 245 activities, delivering 20,687 service hours. • Rural-revitalisation initiatives generated RMB 66.98 million in sales of local agricultural products via “service-area + consumption-assistance” channels.
Awards and Recognition Yueyun Transportation and its subsidiaries received multiple provincial and national accolades, including “2024 Exemplary Publicity Organisation in Guangdong Road Transport Industry”, pilot status for the Ministry of Transport’s zero-carbon service-area programme, and listings among Guangdong’s “Smart Leadership · Transportation” and “Top-100 Chain Enterprises”.
Outlook Yueyun Transportation will continue to align ESG imperatives with its “15th Five-Year” strategy, emphasising digitalised, low-carbon expressway services and integrated energy operations while pursuing the resource-intensity and carbon-reduction targets set for 2026 and 2029.
