Automotive Parts Imports Drop 9% Year-on-Year in May, Exports Rise 5.2%

Data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers from the General Administration of Customs shows that in May, the import value of automotive parts reached $1.81 billion.

This figure represents a month-on-month increase of 8.8%, but a year-on-year decrease of 9.0%.

For the period from January to May, the cumulative import value of automotive parts was $8.31 billion, reflecting a slight year-on-year decline of 0.1%.

In the same month, the export value of automotive parts amounted to $8.68 billion.

Exports saw a month-on-month rise of 1.5% and a year-on-year growth of 5.2%.

Over the first five months of the year, the total export value for automotive parts reached $41.30 billion, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
