Shares of Montage Technology (HKEX: 06809) opened sharply higher, gaining over 6%. At the time of reporting, the stock was up 6.04% to HK$270.4, with a turnover of approximately HK$10.68 million.

The company recently issued a positive profit alert, forecasting first-half revenue of approximately RMB 3.335 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 26.6%. Net profit is expected to be in the range of RMB 1.9 billion to RMB 2.1 billion, indicating growth of 63.9% to 81.2% compared to the prior year. The Chairman has also proposed a share buyback program for the company's A-shares, with a planned repurchase amount of RMB 300 million to RMB 600 million.

Analysts at Citi noted that the strong earnings performance coupled with the share repurchase plan should help stabilize the stock's price volatility.

In a separate development, a report from CLSA referenced an investigation by Korean prosecutors into three MIC (Memory Interface Chip) manufacturers for alleged price collusion. Montage Technology has stated it has always maintained compliance and that its operations remain normal. CLSA's analysis suggests that, given MIC pricing follows a structured and technology-driven framework, the likelihood of substantial pricing issues is relatively low.

CLSA further commented that the recent pullback in Montage Technology's share price, combined with its attractive valuation, presents an additional opportunity for accumulation.
