CNMC Goldmine Holdings Limited announced on May, 13 2026 that it has received a circular from the Kelantan State Land and Mines Office proposing higher royalty rates for minerals produced in the Malaysian state.

The document states that, effective Jan, 1 2026, the royalty on gold would rise to 15% from 10%, while the levy on silver would increase to 12% from 10%. Rates for lead and zinc are unchanged.

CNMC said its Malaysian legal advisers believe any change must be published in the state’s official gazette to take legal effect, and the company has not yet received such a publication.

The miner is assessing the impact of the proposed increases and is working with its joint-venture partner, the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation, and the Kelantan Mining Association to submit an appeal. The company said it will provide further updates when there are material developments and advised shareholders to exercise caution when dealing in its securities.
