Post-transaction, Midea’s issued share count (excluding treasury shares) declined from 6.80 billion to 6.80 billion, reflecting a marginal reduction of 0.0104%. Treasury shares rose to 178.19 million, while the company’s total share capital remained unchanged at 6.98 billion shares.
The repurchased shares are being held as treasury stock for a future reduction of registered capital; none have yet been cancelled. The company confirmed that the buyback was authorised by its board and complied with relevant regulations of both the Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges.
