On July 28, reports surfaced that a subsidiary of Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. (Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co.,Ltd.), Source Photonics, experienced a theft of optical modules from its overseas logistics. It was reported that an 800G high-speed optical module bearing the Source Photonics brand was listed on the second-hand trading platform Xianyu for 950 yuan. A search on Xianyu for "Source Photonics optical module" by Sina Technology did not reveal any 800G high-speed optical modules of that brand currently for sale.

However, on Xianyu, several sellers are still offering Source Photonics 1.25G single-mode dual-fiber optical modules and 10G single-mode optical modules, priced at 5 yuan, 6 yuan, and 19 yuan each. Most sellers stated that the prices are already very favorable and non-negotiable. One seller mentioned the modules are second-hand, while another claimed they are brand new and unused.

Previously, a netizen posted that a "brand new Source Photonics SOURCE 800G OSFP FR4 optical module" was listed on Xianyu at a fixed price of 950 yuan, with the seller's location IP in Hong Kong. The product details page described it as genuine. Based on the product model and brand logo, this optical module matches the primary computing optical module from Source Photonics, which is on the list of stolen items overseas.

In early July, market rumors indicated that in June, a batch of DML optical chips, 800G OSFP FR4 optical module finished products, and semi-finished products from Source Photonics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. (Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co.,Ltd.), were stolen during overseas warehousing and cross-border transportation. The rumored value of the stolen goods, based on terminal pricing, could reach up to $27 million, approximately 200 million yuan.
