Want Want China cancels 33.60 million shares after HK$113 million buyback; 58.42 million shares repurchased to date

Want Want China Holdings Limited disclosed that 33.60 million ordinary shares repurchased between 29 July and 14 August 2026 were cancelled on 19 August 2026. The cancellation trimmed the company’s outstanding share count by 0.29 %, reducing total issued shares to 11.75 billion from 11.79 billion.

The 13 cancelled tranches were repurchased at volume-weighted average prices ranging from HK$3.30 to HK$3.50 per share, translating into an estimated cash outlay of about HK$113.0 million.

In addition, 7.70 million shares bought back on 17–19 August 2026—at average prices of HK$3.24–HK$3.31—remain pending cancellation. Their removal would cut the share base by a further 0.07 %.

On 19 August 2026 alone, the company repurchased 3.00 million shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices between HK$3.225 and HK$3.265, for a total consideration of HK$9.73 million. All these shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Since the current repurchase mandate was granted on 26 August 2025, Want Want China has bought back 58.42 million shares, equivalent to 0.49 % of the shares outstanding on the mandate date. The company remains authorised to repurchase up to 1.18 billion shares under this mandate.

Pursuant to Hong Kong Listing Rule 10.06, the company is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or transferring treasury shares until 18 September 2026.
