A new hub dedicated to advancing space-based computing technology has been officially inaugurated in Xiong'an New Area, marking a significant step in the convergence of satellite internet and artificial intelligence.

The Space Computing Technology Innovation Center was jointly established by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China SatNet Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and Lanjian Hongqing (Xiong'an) Space Technology Co., Ltd. This collaboration comes at a time when space-ground information networks, satellite internet, and commercial aerospace are rapidly integrating, positioning space computing as a critical frontier in the industry's evolution.

The center represents a practical embodiment of deep integration among industry, academia, and research. Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications contributes extensive research expertise and talent in information communication, computer science, and artificial intelligence. China SatNet Digital Technology leverages the industrial ecosystem and digital application capabilities of the China Satellite Network Group. Lanjian Hongqing brings robust system capabilities and engineering experience focused on low-orbit satellites and large-scale constellation construction.

Through this tripartite collaboration, the partners will pool their respective strengths to drive coordinated innovation in space computing research, engineering validation, technology commercialization, and talent cultivation. The initiative aims to accelerate the transition of cutting-edge research outcomes into real satellite engineering applications and industrial scenarios.

Progressing space computing from technical research to large-scale deployment requires robust support across multiple system domains, including satellite platforms, energy and thermal control systems, on-orbit intelligence, inter-satellite communication, and constellation coordination. As a provider of low-orbit satellite networking solutions, Lanjian Hongqing continues to refine its comprehensive capabilities spanning satellite R&D, manufacturing, testing, launch, and services. These capabilities provide the essential engineering foundation for conducting on-orbit validation of related technologies and advancing toward scaled constellation applications.

With the establishment of the center, Lanjian Hongqing has formed a complete chain in the computing-satellite direction, connecting scientific research innovation, platform collaboration, engineering execution, and application pull. A company representative noted that this will propel the firm's relevant operations from capability building toward platform-based collaboration and engineering advancement. The company will work alongside Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and China SatNet Digital Technology to accelerate the validation and industrial application of key space computing technologies, contributing to the growth of the space-ground information and satellite internet sector in the New Area.
