According to a report from Hainan Daily, on October 8, a special meeting of the Hainan Provincial Leading Group for Building an International Tourism Consumption Center and Tourism Market Rectification was held to review and summarize tourism consumption, workplace safety, and related conditions during the National Day holiday, and to deploy next steps. Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and head of the leading group, presided over the meeting. Liu Xiaoming, Governor and head of the leading group, along with other provincial leaders, attended.

The meeting noted that during the first National Day holiday after the Hainan Free Trade Port began closed customs operations, the province achieved dual increases in both the number of tourists received and total tourist spending, the workplace safety situation remained generally stable, and the tourism market was overall steady and orderly. Departments at all levels must grasp trends, identify weak points, comprehensively review and deeply analyze the problems uncovered during this year's National Day holiday, draw inferences from one case to improve rectification and quality, and promote the extension, supplementation, and upgrading of the tourism industry chain. It is necessary to continuously enrich tourism product formats, accelerate the coordinated development of "culture, sports, tourism, commerce, exhibitions, and exchanges," deeply grasp changes in tourist demand, accurately assess new trends and characteristics in the tourism industry's development, and continuously optimize the structure of tourism products.

It is necessary to continuously improve the quality of tourism services, strengthen tourism service guarantees, and continue optimizing service supply in areas such as homestays and car rentals; purify the tourism consumption environment, strengthen whole-chain supervision, shift from "post-incident handling" to "front-end screening," and make good use of the "Hainan Peace of Mind Travel" advance compensation mechanism. It is necessary to vigorously promote autumn and winter tourism consumption, seize the golden window period, actively plan various cultural and tourism promotional activities, do a good job in tourism consumption, and contribute more to the province's economy in the fourth quarter.

It is necessary to always firmly build the tourism safety defense line, hold fast to the bottom lines of workplace safety and ecological environmental protection, strictly implement the "three musts for three areas of responsibility," consolidate the responsibilities of territorial management, industry supervision, and enterprise entities, focus on key areas to carry out retrospective hazard inspections, and ensure that safety hazards are rectified in place. Cultural and tourism activities of all kinds must be carried out in an orderly manner, and at no time may economic development be pursued at the expense of ecological destruction; improve emergency plans for extreme weather, keep a close watch on geological hazard points, and carry out regular patrols and duty shifts to strictly prevent secondary disasters; adhere to coordinated online and offline efforts and strengthen publicity and guidance; strengthen information sharing, mutual transfer of clues, and joint law enforcement, promote integrity and self-discipline among industry associations, and foster a favorable atmosphere in which "everyone safeguards Hainan's tourism image."
