The company known in the market as the "monkey counterpart" to Moutai, JOINN Laboratories (China) Co.,Ltd. (JOINN), issued a stock trading abnormal volatility announcement on the evening of July 16, cautioning investors about potential risks.

The announcement stated that the company's stock price had seen cumulative closing price deviations exceeding 20% over three consecutive trading days on July 14, 15, and 16. The significant short-term price surge indicates overheated market sentiment and the risk of irrational speculation, posing a substantial trading risk with the potential for a price decline at any time.

JOINN Laboratories (China) Co.,Ltd. clarified that, following a self-review and written inquiries to its controlling shareholder and actual controller, there is no significant undisclosed information as of the announcement date. The company also stated it has not identified any media reports or market rumors requiring clarification, nor any other major events that could significantly impact its share price.

As of the close on July 16, JOINN Laboratories (China) Co.,Ltd. shares were trading at 53.25 yuan per share. Over the past three days, the stock has risen by 7%, 10%, and 5.2% respectively, accumulating a gain of over 20% and adding approximately 77 billion yuan to the company's market capitalization.

Headquartered in Beijing's Yizhuang district, JOINN Laboratories (China) Co.,Ltd. is a non-clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) for pharmaceuticals. In recent years, the price of experimental monkeys used in innovative drug R&D has skyrocketed, creating a market shortage. JOINN Laboratories (China) Co.,Ltd., with its substantial inventory of experimental monkeys, has seen its performance surge driven by this price increase.

The recent sharp share price increase appears linked to a semi-annual performance forecast disclosed on July 14. The forecast anticipates net profit attributable to shareholders for the first half of the year to be between approximately 600.13 million yuan and 900.19 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of roughly 884.9% to 1377.4%.

This projected profit includes a contribution of approximately 702.77 million to 776.74 million yuan from fair value changes in biological assets, while laboratory services and other operations are expected to contribute between a loss of about 141.62 million yuan and a profit of around 64.97 million yuan.

The company attributed the performance change to a positive fair value adjustment in its biological assets, driven by both rising market prices and their natural growth. It is understood that the primary biological assets in question are experimental monkeys.
